Remember the Muslim group who started raising funds to help pay for funerals and medical expenses for the victims in Pittsburgh?? Well. They’re not done yet. Look at this
They have increased their goal several times and exceeded it within hours. HOURS!!
Here is their latest update
They’re asking you to please donate to their other fund, to help the victims of the shooting in Kentucky. These people are beyond amazing. They give me hope for the future and restore my faith in humanity.
They haven’t reached their goal with this one yet. If you’re feeling compelled to donate, please donate to the Kentucky fund. Because of everything else going on, it hasn’t gotten nearly as much attention. But these two peoples lives were just as important. They were just as loved and they will be just as missed.
And because they haven’t gotten as much attention and their stories aren’t in the news as much, here’s their story. From the fund raiser.
Please pass this around. If you can’t donate, someone who sees your reblog might.
Respond to evil with good.
It has been two and half hours since I posted this and the funds raised has increased by almost $2800 !!! This is amazing !! You are wonderful people for helping in any way you can.
Keep up the great work!!
PS: the fund for the Tree Of Life victims has raised an additional $11k in the past two and half hours as well. How amazing is that ?!
“I visited the
pumpkin patch yesterday and decided to bring home a pumpkin that in
shape appeared to be a penguin. Friends and family were mystified until I
started painting him.“
Just finished listening to Trench and I really feel like this is the album that, at least to me, solidifies them as artists. It’s early days, very early days but if I were to choose an album that represents Twenty One Pilots, I think it’d be this one.
Every track is compelling, there are probably one or two which I’m not sure about yet but can still appreciate the idea even if I’m not quite on board with the execution (I think Pet Cheetah is probably an example). The tracks I start off thinking are weaker have this habit of springing some really amazing lyrics at me just as I think I’ve made up my mind that this one’s not for me, so that’s nice, maybe they’ll grow on me.
Generally, I’d say I love it most when they incorporate sonic elements they haven’t tried before and blend them with more familiar elements. And there’s a lot of songs that do that. But then I also think based purely on first impressions, Bandito is my favourite and that is so quintessentially Twenty One Pilots, the sounds feel familiar even if the song isn’t and there’s something so beautiful about that. Perfect blend of all these sonic elements that remind me of the band.
Neon Gravestones is another standout with some really awesome lyrics. Chlorine is strange but I think potentially another favourite? Morph was immediately impressive, so I guess it’s a favourite too. And the last track…wonderful.
I’m honestly so impressed. Enjoyed that immensely. Looking forward to the tour.
